Landmark Office Building, Montreal

Landmark Office Building, Montreal

When it came time to replace an aging chiller and ventilation equipment in their Montreal office building, Landmark Properties made the strategic decision to verify if the existing electromechanical infrastructures truly met the building’s needs. It was determined that high-efficiency infrastructures would bring significant energy savings while addressing Landmark’s objective of optimizing the building’s potential profitability. The project went well beyond equipment renewal, including a complete redesign of the ventilation system and the addition of a chiller with heat recovery capabilities. Different sectors of the building are now heated and cooled depending on their geographical orientation. The new infrastructures have greatly improved tenant comfort, and, in consequence, the property’s rental potential.

Customized Performance Measures

Rooftop Units

Replacement of 5 rooftop units with 3 highly efficient units to provide the building with heating, cooling, and ventilation.

Chiller with Heat Recovery

Installation of a chiller that is able to recover the heat that is generated during its cooling cycle, which is then fed to the heating system.

Ventilation

Upgrade of ventilation system to efficiently deliver warm and cool air where it is most needed, and maintain appropriate levels of fresh air. Variable speed drives modulate the airflow depending on actual needs.
