Harricana School Board

Harricana School Board

The project carried out at the Harricana School Board is one of Ecosystem’s many successes in managing construction sites far from major urban centers.

The 14 schools upgraded in this project all experienced significant drops in their energy consumption. This was accomplished through improved equipment efficiency and the use of renewable energies, including heat recovery within the buildings. Geothermal systems were installed at two schools to meet their heating needs.

The energy efficiency measures enabled the school board to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 3000 metric tons of CO₂ per year.
