Bard College Partners with Ecosystem to Reach their Energy and Environmental Goals
Ecosystem believes in producing Campus Energy Master Plans that are specific and actionable and lay out a clear roadmap to achieving a college’s goals. We’ll be working with Bard College to develop a strategy for achieving the college’s goals of campus net zero energy and carbon neutrality by 2035.
A focus of Bard’s plan is to evaluate how to contain and/or reverse the rise in consumption, costs, and emissions, looking at converting equipment due for replacement with high-efficiency alternatives. The college is also interested in the possible expansion of its geothermal systems to existing buildings and new construction, a technology with which Ecosystem has sound experience.
The project is supported by a $64,000 grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), as part of its REV Campus Challenge Program. This initiative promotes clean energy efforts by supporting colleges and universities in New York State that implement clean energy projects and principles on campus and in surrounding communities.
