Six Leading Higher Education Institutions Awarded Grants in the Coalition Energy Sustainability Program

VERSAILLES, KY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2023 — The Coalition Energy Sustainability Program (ESP), and its partners, First American Education Finance, Ecosystem, and Solar Financing Solutions, is pleased to announce the recipients of the launch grants. Six institutions received grants, advancing sustainable, energy-efficient campuses and marking a major step in campus sustainability efforts.

The Coalition ESP helps private nonprofit schools transition their campuses toward sustainable energy through targeted resources and support. The program drives campus decarbonization, cuts energy costs, boosts resiliency, tackles deferred maintenance, and supports broader sustainability goals.

Following a highly competitive selection process, the committee has awarded launch grants to the following institutions:

Why These Institutions Stand Out

These institutions stood out in a crowded and highly qualified field. All the grant applicants demonstrated an impressive commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. However, each selected school’s unique vision and goals align seamlessly with the mission of the Coalition ESP. Over the coming months, they will collaborate with the program partners to assess and enhance their energy practices on campus.

This assessment will serve as the foundation for developing actionable roadmaps tailored to their specific campus objectives. With the support of the Coalition ESP’s partners, these schools will work towards a greener, more sustainable future.
