Hitting a Home Run with the Padres

Ecosystem is proud to work with the San Diego Padres, providing a fully turnkey project at Petco Park. We will provide the design, construction, and commissioning of the stadium’s own chiller plant to improve operational efficiencies, reducing the energy required to produce chilled water and increasing self-sufficiency.

The new plant will reduce energy consumption associated with chilled water production by more than 40 percent. In addition, the project will decrease water use, provide annual savings of over $1 million, and reduce GHG emissions by roughly 700 tons per year, given the clean electricity the Padres currently purchase. Construction of the new plant began in November 2022 and is estimated to be completed by April 2023.

Ecosystem has a track record of successful stadium retrofits. Recent projects include Montreal’s iconic Olympic Park, where an essential infrastructure upgrade resulted in $1.3 million in guaranteed annual savings, and an efficiency upgrade at OSU’s Ohio Stadium, the third-largest stadium in the USA.
