Combined Heat and Power
With energy prices on the rise, the ability to produce energy directly on-site is key to achieving independence from the grid, controlling costs, and adding resiliency.
Combined Heat and Power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, is the simultaneous generation of electricity and heat. Typically fueled by natural gas, CHP plants are highly efficient, since they recover the useful thermal energy that is a by-product of electricity generation.
Appropriate sizing is essential for CHP design. At Ecosystem, our CHP expertise is underscored by our whole-building design approach and our in-depth understanding of your electromechanical systems. We size CHP plants to obtain the best fit with the energy needs of your facilities, in order to achieve the following results:
- sufficient thermal energy to heat the building, without overproducing
- optimal use of the electricity generated
